Red wine stains can often be improved or removed, especially when addressed quickly, but results vary with carpet fiber, dye stability, prior products and stain age. Blot the spill instead of aggressively rubbing it.
Blot with a clean white cloth and a little cool water. Do not pour anything hot on it.
Rubbing pushes wine deeper and spreads it.
Set wine stains may lighten but not always disappear.
